Two individual opinions were submitted, by Committee member, Mr. Nisuke Ando and Ms. Christine Chanet On 24 March 2003, the Human Rights Committee, through its Special Rapporteur on New Communications, requested the State party, pursuant to Rule 86 of its Rules of Procedure, not to carry out the death sentence against the author whilst his case was before the Committee.
